13 FIND is the simplest and most cost-effective way for Australians to find local businesses. 13 FIND offers you more ways to find businesses than any other directory service in Australia; you can call 13 FIND from any telephone network in Australia, send an SMS request from a mobile phone, use a free mobile app, and access the service on the internet or mobile site at 13find.com.au. Unlike other directories, 13 FIND has no premium charge for its voice or SMS service.
13 FIND has its own database of businesses, which come from a number of different sources including individual businesses who have chosen to advertise with us. We update the database regularly, but appreciate any feedback from our users about errors in the information. Over time, we aim to have one of the largest and most accurate business databases in Australia.
Using 13find.com.au to find a business is easy. If you know the type of business you're after, just enter one or more keywords that describe the business in the "What" box. Next, enter the postcode or suburb you want in the "Where" box. Then just click on the Find button. Simple!
If you know the name of a specific business you're looking for, simply enter it in the "What" box. If you know the location, enter it into the "Where" box and click on the Find button.
It's possible that you have misspelt a keyword, business name, suburb or post code (we've been known to do it ourselves sometimes!), so please check the spelling and try again.
The keyword you're using may not match any businesses listed with 13 FIND. Try using another keyword to find the business you're looking for. If that doesn't work, then we may not have the category or business listed in our 13 FIND databases. If that’s the case, please contact us and we'll try and fix things.
The location you've used may not be recognised in our system. Please check the spelling of the location, or switch a postcode for a suburb and vice versa. If that doesn't give you the result you're looking for, try entering a neighbouring suburb, postcode or even the state as the location.
If there are no businesses that match your keywords in your specified location, 13 FIND will try neighbouring suburbs and keep expanding the search area until we find a match. If your keywords are unusual, a relevant business may be some distance away from your specified location, but we reckon it's more helpful than no result at all! Alternatively, a business may have chosen to service some specific locations outside of its home address, in which case it will appear in results for these locations.
Many suburbs share the same name. If you entered one of these suburbs, you'll have an option at the top of your results to select the suburb you're after. If you know your suburb is a common one, include the state and suburb in your original search (e.g. Hamilton NSW) or use the postcode instead (e.g. Hamilton 2303).
"SMS to me" is a FREE service that sends your selected 13 FIND business results to your mobile phone using a free SMS. Once you've found the right business, simply click on the "SMS to me" link which appears next to the business information, enter your details and submit. Within seconds you'll receive an SMS with the business' contact details.

"Share" is a FREE service that lets you send your 13 FIND results to an email address, or post the information on social networking sites. Once you've found the right business, simply click on the "share" link which appears below the business information, and select the option you prefer.

You will only pay your standard mobile rates - there's no additional charge for calling 13 FIND. Some mobile plans include calls to 13 numbers as part of a cap plan, so check with your mobile carrier.
You will pay a fixed Local Call Rate irrespective of the length of the call. The actual rate charged will depend on the specifics of your phone plan; in some plans calls to 13 numbers are included, but will be no more than $0.30.
It depends on what type of phone you’re calling from (fixed or mobile), what business you’ve chosen and in some cases, the amount of remaining credit you have left (if it’s a pre-paid mobile). You will always have the option to through-connect for FREE to businesses that have chosen to advertise with 13 FIND.
If you are calling from a fixed line, you will still only pay the fixed Local Call Rate applied by your Carriage Service Provider. There is no additional charge for being through-connected.
If you are calling from a mobile phone, your standard mobile rates will continue to apply for the length of the call. For some businesses you will have the option to accept an additional through-connect charge of $0.90c. This through-connect charge appears as a separate line item on your mobile phone bill.
13 FIND’s speech recognition service is constantly evolving and improving. The system also learns over time, so its accuracy will improve the more people use it. Please note that the accuracy of the system is negatively impacted by background noise (e.g. traffic or loud conversation). If you are calling in a noisy environment, definitely avoid using your speaker phone. Any feedback on our voice system helps us improve our service, so if you have had a problem with our voice system, please let us have your feedback here.
Whilst 13 FIND does have a large database of businesses, it doesn’t necessarily have the specific business you are looking for. If we do have the business listed, it might be listed under a slightly different name, or associated with a different location, in which case our speech recognition service will, unfortunately, not recognise the name that you have used.
Blackberries have "qwerty" keyboards, which work like this: Dial 13, then hold the ALT key down whilst pressing F-I-N-D, and voila! Or, you can just dial 13 3463 (which spells 13 FIND). Other smart phones may have different ways of using their qwerty keyboard (e.g. holding the SHIFT key down instead of th ALT key), but all of them do provide for it.

Within seconds you'll receive a FREE return SMS with up to three relevant businesses to choose from. And the beauty is, your only charge is your standard mobile SMS rate (our replies to you are FREE)! If you receive the results on a smart phone, you can highlight the phone number of your preferred business option and simply click to call (only your standard mobile rates will apply to this call).
Alternatively, if you know the name of a specific business, but need its contact details, you can simply type in the name of the business (and location if you like), SMS it to 13 FIND (13 3463) and receive contact details by free return SMS. If you have a smart phone, you can highlight the phone number of the business and simply click to call (only your standard mobile rates will apply to this call – check with your mobile carrier).

When you click to call a business – your standard mobile charges levied by your mobile service provider will apply (check out their rates to make sure). In all cases you will see the number you're calling, so you will know what rate you will be charged.
Yes, the mobile app does have the ability to use your current location. Once you have selected the type of business you are looking for, simply click on the "compass" (confirm this is correct) symbol to activate your current location, and click Find.
